Hello! My name is Michael Mendis, and welcome to my new website, The Heartland Gamer!  Here I will be reviewing video games (both old and new), as well as giving my impressions on new game trailers and other game-related news.  Most of my reviews (particularly reviews of new games) will be for Xbox games, since that is where I spend most of my gaming time these days (and since the only new-gen console I currently own is an Xbox One), but I will still be posting my impressions of new game announcements for Sony and Nintendo platforms, and some of the older games I review will be on non-Xbox platforms as well.  I also plan to capture some gameplay footage to post on this site as well, hopefully starting in the next month or so.

It’s an exciting time in the industry; this holiday is going to be quite busy, and I look forward to being able to cover some of the great new games on Xbox, including Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Sunset Overdrive, Ori and the Blind Forest, and more.  And 2015 will be absolutely stacked with huge new sequels (Halo, Uncharted, Batman, Witcher) and new IP (The Division, Bloodborne, Quantum Break, The Order: 1886).  The new generation of gaming is kicking into high gear, and I can’t wait to share it with you!
